The week before all the deadlines. I was utterly consumed by finishing those two centipedes. I am pleased with the results of the oil paint finishing but because I felt so miserable during this week I feel like I need to keep exploring other options. I’ve put more thought into “cooking” oil paint and I think I’ll try it soon, I just need to build again for a second. I'd like to get to a place where the finishing is as enjoyable as the making. I hope to document these two centipedes in a domestic setting, like my spare room, soon. I do not think they read well in gallery spaces, or at least I think they would look better in a home.
