This brat summer was busy, busy, busy, with lots of change and growth. I had hoped to produce more sculpture over those months but instead I made a decent amount of functional pieces that helped fill the summer wood and extra that will support this semester's wood fire. I worked a lot picking up shifts whenever I could, I’m going to miss those fat paychecks. In lieu of creating sculptures I did a lot of writing and thinking over the summer. I talked through what I’ve been trying to communicate with my work with many folks and re-wrote many statements and got to a point where I feel good about talking with others about what I'm doing. I applied to the Kentucky Foundation for Women Artist Enrichment grant– first adult artist grant so I'm pretty proud of that.

This first week of class I worked on a collaboration piece with Jooby to get me back into making and rushed a glue job on a piece that broke for a horror exhibition at Portal that opens next weekend!
